THE CHALLENGE OF PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION IN THE AGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

აბსტრაქტი. Artificial intelligence is increasingly integrated into everyday decision-making, both in personal life and in private and public sectors. This integration significantly increases the scale of personal data collection and processing in the modern digital environment. In this process, issues of data privacy and security are becoming increasingly important. This paper examines the risks associated with the use of artificial intelligence in the processing of personal data, analyzes the legal, technological, and ethical frameworks necessary to protect such data, and proposes comprehensive strategies to mitigate these risks. To address certain challenges and minimize potential vulnerabilities, the paper advocates either the development of an in-house AI system or the adoption of a federated AI model as an alternative to traditional centralized AI systems. Particular emphasis is placed on achieving a balance between technological innovation and security to ensure that the deployment of AI does not infringe upon fundamental human rights. This approach promotes the responsible and secure use of artificial intelligence while safeguarding personal data in the AI era.
