ABSTRACT. Penetration testing, as one of the main components of information security, aims to detect security vulnerabilities in systems, networks, and applications. Its correct and systematic implementation helps organizations proactively prevent potential cyber threats, improve security, and strengthen digital resilience. The article reviews the evolution of penetration testing, modern approaches, tools, and best practices, which significantly contribute to strengthening the security strategy.
